Melanie Dupuis

Since childhood, Mélanie has radiated with her contagious energy—she was affectionately nicknamed the ‘little kangaroo’. Very early on, she took the stage, first through dance, then by developing for seven years a solid foundation in gymnastics. Her love for movement and the stage naturally led her towards circus arts, a decisive discovery that will mark the beginning of an impassioned commitment in this direction.

She joined the National Circus School of Montreal, where she perfected her artistic language and technical mastery for six years. It is over the course of this training that she became passionate about aerial disciplines and acrobatic lifts, in particular the trapeze duo, which would become her specialty. A discipline in which his acute sense of spatial orientation, his precision and his pleasure to fly fully take off.

Since her graduation in 2016, Mélanie has been traveling the world with her longtime partner, Xander Taylor. Together, they form a unique trapeze duo, rich in more than 10 years of complicity and international performances. Their joint work, at the crossroads of technical virtuosity and artistic sensitivity, has attracted many companies and festivals.

In addition to the trapeze duo, Mélanie has strong skills in banquine, hand-to-hand and aerial fabric, which makes her a complete aerial and acrobatic artist. Versatile, passionate and deeply committed, she continues to push her limits to offer the public suspended moments, powerful and memorable.

Inhabited by the energy of the stage, Xander Taylor is a multidisciplinary artist who constantly pushes back the limits of the body and the imagination. Originally from Ottawa, it was while attending his very first circus show in his childhood that he was struck by a revelation: inspired by a balancing act, he immediately began to walk on his hands… and never stopped again.

His journey leads him first to artistic gymnastics and high-level diving, where he will proudly represent Canada. At the same time, he developed his stage skills through theatre, television and public speaking, notably winning a national championship in this latter discipline.

Xander is pursuing theatre studies at Sheridan College and then a degree in kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. This unique combination of artistic and physical knowledge prepares him for a singular career. He participates in the creation of aquatic shows for some of the largest cruise companies in the world, before turning resolutely towards the circus.

In 2016, he graduated from the National Circus School of Montreal, alongside his trapeze duo partner, Mélanie Dupuis. Together, they form an aerial duo recognized for its complicity, technicality and originality, which leads them to perform around the world.

A complete artist, Xander also offers acrobatic dance and strapèze danse numbers — a hybrid discipline that he created himself, combining trapeze, rope and suspension in a unique signature.

With varied collaborations ranging from DreamWorks to NBC, he continues to impress with the diversity and impact of his performances. Enter his universe: a space where rigor meets creativity, and where each movement tells a story.
